Let's Make Jewelry with Merrill Matthews

In these sessions participants will learn basic jewelry making techniques to create bracelets and earrings while enjoying a supportive group in the community. 

June 13th Week 1: Stretch Bracelets 

Participants will learn about different beads, their hole size and the materials they are made of. Using elastic cord and measuring participants will design and construct beaded bracelets. We will practice and use the knot tie method to close, secure and finish the bracelets. Participants will also learn how to incorporate spacer beads and accent beads to their creative designs. 

June 20th Week 2:  Multi Strand Drop Earrings 

In this session the use and technique of using the round nose pliers will be covered to make loops, close off loops, cut head pins and earring wire. Participants will lay out their designs, add beads to head pins then loop and connect them to ear wires to create multi strand drop earrings.
