Please note that this workshop is for adults 17+.

Award-winning cartoonist Carta Monir leads this workshop for teens and adults, focused on the idea of making "dangerous" or "divisive" work. Together, participants will explore ideas of comics about trauma, memory, family, and death. Materials (pens, pencils, paper, etc.) will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own. All attendees will receive a free copy of the Cool Work x Interesting People zine.

Carta Monir is a cartoonist and micropress publisher (Diskette Press) living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her work is usually sad, but she herself is pretty happy.

This event is part of Cool Work x Interesting People, a monthly series about comics co-curated by Carta Monir and Leigh Hurwitz.
