In our very special and interactive presentation of Stone Soup for Shabbat with interactive musical storytellers Play Me a Story, we invite children to tell how a beggar tricks a starving town into giving him some food and teaches them a lesson in cooperation amid scarcity.

The children act out the colorful characters with handmade costumes, and klezmer-style dance and music in a performance that is festive, educational and entertaining.

We welcome the children to enjoy an imaginary feast as a community with props of delicious Jewish foods, and pots and ladles as the musical instruments.

The program will be in English and Yiddish.

The World Language Family Series is provided through the generous support of Apple Bank, celebrating over 20 years in Brooklyn and over 150 years of neighborhood banking in greater New York. Additional support for multi-lingual First Five Years programs provided by the Altman Foundation.
