This workshop starts Thursday, March 15, 2018 and runs for eight consecutive Thursdays until Thursday, May 3, 2018. In the first three sessions which will be led by Phoebe Crary of Opalia Flowers, students will learning floral care and conditioning, starting with design basics, and building up to advanced techniques of floral design.  The finished floral design arrangements will then be distributed to residents of senior centers, nursing homes and hospitals throughout Brooklyn, partners of both BloomAgainBklyn and the Brooklyn Public Library.

Ken Rush, well-known local artist and teacher, will be representing a 5-session, flower art workshop where students will be taught how to use flowers as subject and engage in a series of exercises to gain confidence and experience with their art. Students will work with both monochromatic and color materials, culminating with a series of watercolor and collage drawings.

At the end of the eight-week workshop, on May 3, there will be a culminating event and participants will take their art pieces home.
