What is a BioBlitz?

A BioBlitz is the opportunity to observe and record the pollinators in your neighborhood. This observation makes you more aware of the many varieties of pollinator life even in an urban neighborhood.

When is the Clinton Hill BioBlitz taking place?

The BioBlitz starts on Sunday, September 11th and ends on Saturday, October 1st.

How does it work?

Download National Geographic’s iNaturalist app from the app store. Then upload your pollinator photos to the app. If you don’t know the name of the pollinator, the community will make suggestions (see page 2 for detailed online & app instructions).

If you do not want to use the app, then email your photo with the cross streets (such as Greene Ave. & Washington Ave) to clintonhillbioblitz@gmail.com. We will upload the photos for you. The iNaturalist account name to look for is Clinton Hill Library #PlantWildflowers BioBlitz.

The New York Botanic Garden is tagging NYC iNaturalist entries in their New York City EcoFlora project. By uploading photos to iNaturalist, you are helping them get a better picture of pollinators in NYC.
