Storyteller Tammy Hall
"Tales from Around the World” is a fantastic literary journey of stories from the African Diaspora. Storyteller, Tammy Hall, will lead you to many lands in Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas with wit and wisdom.
Participants will be introduced to a series of books that are fun and easy to make-some. Examples include envelope books, accordion books, flag books, tunnel books and binding methods. Come be part of the fun while tapping into your creative powers! Presented by Artist Joy Suarez.
Let your child be inspired by author/illustrator Nina Crews (The Neighborhood Sing-Along; Jack and the Beanstalk) as she showcases examples of collage art that inspire her. Each child is invited to take a nursery rhyme or song and create their own illustration using magazines, paper, and drawing.
Want to learn how to draw Manga! Then check out this workshop with author/illustrator Misako Rocks, who drew her first comic at age 13!
Dahlia Dumont and Blue Dahlia
Dahlia Dumont from Brooklyn, New York and Paris, France, mixes exotic and grooving music with her group 'Blue Dahlia.' Chanson française meets reggae, klezmer meets tango, samba meets ska. Accordion, violin, horns, world rhythms, Dahlia's bright little ukulele, and lyrics in French and in English create an organic sound with an electric energy.
Dahlia Dumont’s performance is part of FRANCE ROCKS SUMMERFEST. Presented by The Cultural Services of the French Embassy, Bureau Export and France Rocks. Support from Institut Français and la Ville de Paris.
