Join Services for Older Adults in partnership with Brooklyn Community Pride Center (www.lgbtbrooklyn.org) as we celebrate James Baldwin the writer, the warrior, and the activist who is still influencing the LGBTQ+ community and still inspiring Black Lives Matter!
Brooklyn poet and Baldwin scholar JP Howard* will facilitate community conversations on Baldwin thru readings and spoken word. Musical interludes will be provided by the melodious stylings of Maria Rios-Tatum and Lynnette Tatum-Rios.

*JP Howard is an educator, literary activist, curator and community builder. Her debut poetry collection, SAY/MIRROR, was a Lambda Literary finalist. She is also the author of bury your love poems here (Belladonna*) and co-edited Sinister Wisdom Journal Black Lesbians--We Are the Revolution! JP has received fellowships from Cave Canem, VONA, and Lambda Literary and curates Women Writers in Bloom Poetry Salon, a NY-based monthly literary series.
