BPL will be hosting a book discussion group on George Orwell's 1984 every month for 48 months beginning in January 2017. Each discussion cycle will be facilitated by a librarian, writer, community member, artist, etc. If you are interested in facilitating a 1984 discussion, please contact us for information on setting it up.

Janelle Greco is the facilitator for Group #2. Janelle comes to the Library with a love for literature, writing, and sharing ideas. She currently works as a Program Manager at LaGuardia Community College, a role in which she oversees a variety of programs aimed at helping adult learners advance their education. She holds a B.A. in English from Springfield College and an M.A. in English from Northeastern University. Janelle has more than ten years of experience working in adult education, secondary and post-secondary settings as an instructor, curriculum designer, and program manager. Most of that time has been spent working with homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals.

The February cycle will meet for three consecutive weeks on Thursday February 9th, February 16th, and February 23rd. The first discussion will be held in Room 214 at the Central Library from 7-8:30pm. The following two sessions will be held in the Trustees' Room on the third floor.
