Team Eagles: Bike the Branches

2015 Brooklyn Classic
Over 300 guests joined the Eagles at the historic Park Slope Library to toast to new Brooklyn classics. Park Slope Library was transformed with a dance floor, signature cocktails, and delicious foods. See the photos.
Brooklyn Eagles Literary Prize Readings
The inaugural Brooklyn Literary Prize celebrates the best books in Brooklyn. We hosted two evenings of literature and libations in Central Library's stunning Trustees Room, with readings by Claire Prentice, Kent Russell, James Hannaham, Atticus Lish, and Anya Ulinich. The inaugural Brooklyn Eagles Literary Prize is generously supported by the Peck Stacpoole Foundation.

Brooklyn Public Library invited Eagles to an artist reception for the opening of its spring exhibition, #76759. A tour with the artist followed.
Eagles Go Bowling
The Eagles put down their favorite books this Spring and had their first bowling get-together at Medoldy Lanes. It was a family-friendly event for bowlers of all (or no) skill levels.
First Eagles Service Project: Painting and Planting at the Clinton Hill Library
Clinton Hill Library | 380 Washington Avenue at Lafayette Avenue
The Eagles teamed up with the Friends of Clinton Hill Library to get the branch’s front garden looking good and ready for winter. Over 35 Friends and Eagles joined together to plant 600 bulbs and paint the front gate of the Library.
2014 Brooklyn Classic
Sponsored by Heights Chateau Fine Wines & Spirits, Sixpoint Brewery and The Open Society Foundations and celebrating the Brooklyn Public Library for its role as a vibrant cultural anchor for every Brooklyn community, the 2014 Brooklyn Classic featured live Latin jazz rhythms with the Jeremy DeJesus Quintet and the adorable beats of the Mariachi Academy of New York's children's band. The 2014 Brooklyn Classic also saw the announcement of the Brooklyn Eagles Literary Prize and the first Eagles service project. Proceeds supported BPL's children's and youth programs.
2014 Summer Rooftop Party
With generous support from Sixpoint Brewery and The Brooklyn Winery, over 130 friends of the Library joined the Eagles on the Central Library's roof for an incredible sunset over Grand Army Plaza and music by the Highline Jazz Quartet.
Summer Biers & Books Extravaganza
Die Stammkneipe/Der Schwarze Kölner and Greenlight Bookstore hosted the Eagles summer happy hour and book drive, collecting books to donate to BPL's Family Shelter Program
Winter Biers & Books Extravaganza
With support from Die Stammkneipe/Der Schwarze Kölner, the Brooklyn Eagles held their first holiday happy hour and book drive, collecting children's books to replenish those lost at Brooklyn library branches during Sandy.
2013 Brooklyn Classic
Sponsored by HBO, JetBlue, and The Open Society Foundations, the 2013 Brooklyn Classic showcased the Library's presence as a timeless Brooklyn institution and hub for the borough's creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and diversity. Almost 300 Brooklyn business and nonprofit leaders, entrepreneurs and young professions attended the first annual Brooklyn Classic, which featured the music of the Sesame Flyers Steel Pan Band and Highline Jazz Quartet and food "curated" by Underground Eats. Proceeds supported BPL’s Today's Teens, Tomorrow's Techies and Brooklyn Connections programs.
