Caption: "Grappling for auto dive victims -- Discovery of an automobile in the Gowanus Canal off the foot of 1st St. early today led to grappling operations by police in a routine search for victims. But no one was found in the car after it had been raised, or in the water. Arrow points to part of dock where car is reported to have plunged into water.
