Temporary Closing

The Washington Irving Library will close at the end of business on Friday June 3,2016 for the installation of new shelving and furniture and will reopen on Monday, June 20th at 10:00am.

Washington Irving Library was the 21st and final Carnegie library built in Brooklyn. The branch has served Bushwick since 1923, and today it offers many popular technology- focused programs for young people. Immigrants from all over the world enjoy browsing the branch’s multi-lingual collections and attending its popular programs, including Teen Time, First Five Years and various computer workshops. The weekly resume and career help is also a consistent draw.
