Pre-HSE Classes for Young Adults
Are you ready for the new high school equivalency(HSE) known as the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) which replaced the GED?
Sign up for Free Pre-HSE classes for Young Adults (17 to 24 years old).
Attend a Pre-HSE registration event at any one of the sessions currently being offered to be considered for the program.

In addition, we're hosting 2 additional registrations specifically for those who are between 17 and 24 years old:
Friday, September 26th from 10am to 3pm
at New Lots Learning Center located at 665 New Lots Avenue.
Tuesday, September 30th from 10am to 3pm
at the Bedford Learning Center located at 496 Franklin Avenue.
Bring a pen and plan to stay for at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
The Young Adult Literacy Program (YALP) is a full-time literacy and job-readiness program for young adults between the ages of 17 and 24 who are preparing to take the new HSE exam known as the TASC and are seeking work.
The program includes many important resources:
- Literacy and math skill development
- Work readiness workshops
- Internship opportunities
- Social support services
- Transportation assistance provided
To get started, attend a Pre-HSE registration session.
Young adults age 17 must present official discharge papers from the Department of Education to register.
In addition, part-time Pre-HSE classes are available for adults (17 and older).
