ANNOUNCES SUMMER SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE MAY 22nd



Brooklyn, NY, May 18, 2005– In keeping with lower library usage during the summer months, Brooklyn Public Library's (BPL) Central Library at Grand Army Plaza, Business Library in downtown Brooklyn and 58 neighborhood libraries will be closed on Sundays for the summer, effective May 22, 2005. All other hours of service for each library remains the same.

BPL's online library services are available 24/7 and include:

  • BPL Catalog, which allows library users to check on the availability of books, videos, DVDs and other materials, reserve or renew, and review library cardholder account information


  • Over 70 online reference databases


  • Live Homework Help tutoring program for students in grades 4-12


  • Dedicated Business Library, teen and children's Web sites


  • BPL system-wide Calendar of Events


  • Online booklists
