Released with Conviction by the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO)

February 23, 2012 - April 28, 2012
Central Library, Foyer Gallery Cases
This multi-media project follows nine former inmates after their release from
incarceration. Photography by Jeyhoun Allebaugh, Michael Scott Berman
and Bryan Tarnowski.

Exhibition is located in the Foyer Cases and the Lobby Gallery (next to the Multilingual Division).

Through photography and interviews, this exhibition offers the rarely seen perspective of those returning home from prison or jail. Three photographers followed the stories of nine former inmates who related their struggles with and joys of reconnecting with their families, the workplace and the community-at-large.

CEO - Center for Employment Opportunities, logoThe Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing immediate, effective and comprehensive employment services to men and women with recent criminal convictions. Re-entry after incarceration is an issue that affects hundreds of thousands of Americans each year. Most individuals returning home want to prove that, given the right opportunity, they can be responsible parents, productive citizens and assets to their communities. CEO believes, and it has been proven, that a stable life can be achieved when people are employed as soon as possible upon their release.
