Fashion Illustration: A Contemporary Look by Anja Kroencke
Central Library, Grand Lobby
What I love about fashion illustration is that I can create stories where I am the author, stylist and set designer, and only imagination is the limit. In my drawings I always try to achieve simple and sophisticated compositions with the use of unusual color combinations, textures and pattern. My inspirations come from living in New York City and my love for design, from furniture to graphic to textile to fashion.
Anja Kroencke was born in Vienna, Austria, where she studied fashion design and illustration. After working as a graphic designer for a few years she decided to dedicate herself full time to illustration. Since then she has won numerous awards and her work has appeared in many publications worldwide. Her clients include Estee Lauder, M.A.C. Cosmetics, Tiffany's, Vogue and W Magazine to name a few.
