Poetry For Life Training

Gary Glazner Alzheimer's Poetry Project Brooklyn Public Library Central Library Services for Older Adults Department Poetry For Life TrainingBrooklyn Public Library will provide an incredible training opportunity for library staff and older adult library users, led by poet Gary Glazner, founder of the Alzheimer's Poetry Project and creator of the Memory Arts Cafe.

This training will teach participants how to conduct interactive poetry programs for people with dementia, using call and response and spontaneous creation of new poems by the audience.

Starting on Monday, May 19, and running through June 30 (no session on May 26, Memorial Day), the training will be held at the Shelby White and Leon Levy Information Commons Lab at Brooklyn Public Library's Central Library at 10 Grand Army Plaza (the corner of Eastern Parkway and Flatbush Avenue).

Each training session runs from 10:00 AM-11:30 AM. The training is designed so that participants can attend three or more of the six sessions. It is not necessary to attend every session.
