On Friday, March 28, 2014, Brooklyn Public Library's Shelby White and Leon Levy Information Commons got a special program provided by the folks at Google.Brooklyn Public Library Shelby White and Leon Levy Information Commons Google Gmail Training for Older Adults Google volunteers helps a woman learn to use a tablet computer

Google brought about 25 Google employees who volunteered their time to help some of our older adult library users to learn how to set up and use Gmail accounts on Nexus 7 tablets. These tablets were donated to the library by Google to help the neighborhood libraries most affected by Hurricane Sandy.

The program was a huge success, and everyone enjoyed the one-on-one assistance provided by the Google volunteers.

Thank you, Google! Thank you, BPL staff for making this happen! And special thanks to the students that showed up to take advantage of this wonderful program!
