Books By Mail Valentine's Project

In 2014, we are spreading the love not only through our books and media but through greeting cards. Services for Older Adults is sending Valentine's greetings to our homebound with the help of some loving school aged students.

Angeli Rasbury from the Central Library had a class of 16 students at MACADEMY make about 30 Valentine’s cards, and Rita Meade of the New Utrecht Library, worked with K-2nd grade students at PS 200 to make over 100 sweet and heartfelt cards. Tambe-Tysha John, also of the New Utrecht Library made a bunch of cards herself to add to the collection. Special thanks to Judy Vigo for her artwork.

Update: We more than reached our goal by distributing 145 greeting cards to the Bensonhurst Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and 149 to homebound Books By Mail participants.

And Extra-Special thanks to Judy Blaise-St.Ellien for thinking of this project, making many cards herself, delegating card-making to her family and pulling the whole project together so well.
